Chanticleer! Camera Critters

My Father who raised Bantam Roosters as a hobby would have loved these paintings.  Geoffrey Chaucer who wrote the Cantebury Tales probably would have enjoyed them also.  As I was struggling with the Middle English language of Chaucer's 14th Century masterpiece, I fell in love with Chanticleer, the proud and foolish rooster.

The paintings are hanging in McLarry's Art Gallery on Canyon Road.

Canyon Road

I snapped this photo in March of 2010 while walking down Canyon Road.  I wish one of those mailboxes was mine!  We probably have arrived by now and are settling in; I'll start posting current photos shortly. I promise.

Naked or Nude?

If you're interested in seeing quite a few unclothed female figures, hop right over to Canyon Road. Interestingly,  I saw few representations of males.  Go figure! I recall reading a poem years ago establishing the difference between naked and nude.  Which description would you chose?

Kitsch on Canyon Road?!

The city of Santa Fe is justifiably proud of the art work that is on display and for sale on this narrow, winding street. Because it isn't the high season many of the galleries on Canyon Road  are closed, but there are a few shops still open.  I had to laugh when I saw this store because it is so different from what one would expect.  Click on the Canyon Road link above to learn more about this area.
