Farewell Breakfast

I have to confess that I have been back in St. Paul, Mn for awhile. I was still reluctant to leave
Santa Fe, but it's time to start posting from my permanent city. The photo above was my last breakfast burrito meal at The Chocolate Maven before we left town on Interstate 25N.

Part of the fun of eating breakfast there is watching the bakers complete their work behind plexiglass, easily viewed from the dining room.  The guys even waved good-by to us.  We'll be back!!

Starting today, switch over to Visual St. Paul, and I'll meet and greet you from there now! My
Santa Fe blog is temporarily closed 'til I return again.

Good Friday Image

In April of 2012 Jim and I were in Savannah during Passover and Easter.  I found this image in the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.  I offer this on Good Friday to those of you for whom this is a significant Christian religious period.

National Radio Astronomy-Very Large Array

Socorro, NM- Nat'l Radio Astronomy Observatory: Very Large Array is a scientific facility that has a powerful telescope that observes the universe, night and day,  27 dish-shaped antennas are turned to a kind of light that eyes cannot see.   The invisible light is in the form of radio waves.    Unhindered, radio waves can travel billions of years across the vastness of space.  They provide the VLA with the data that helps construct a timeline of the universe——from its ancient past to the possible future.

Palm Sunday

I took these photo in 2010 during a procession on Palm Sunday from the Basilica Cathedral to the Plaza, led by the charismatic Monsigneur Jerome Martínez who was then the Rector but who is now pastoring in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Filigreed Gate-Good Fences

While driving down a two-lane highway in New Mexico, on the lot of an old abandoned and shuttered Trading Post/Antique store I saw this fabulous gate.  What a beautiful addition to a fence this would make!

Lest We Forget-ABC WEDNESDAY "L"

ANOTHER WAR MEMORIAL: The inscription reads "Remember those Santafeans who went to fight in the mud, snow, and the choking dust of a strange land. Korea 1950-1953"

People in Santa Fe obviously honor their veterans.  This memorial is situated in a sweet little park on Old Santa Fe Trail on land donated by Amelia White and dedicated to her.
