ABC Wednesday: "L"-Ladders

The top photo shows a ladder that enters an underground Kiva in Pecos National Historical Park. Because the interior looked cold and damp in this weather I passed up a sign's invitation to enter and explore.  The bottom two photos were visible outside homes on the mesa of Acoma Pueblo where we recently spent a delightful afternoon.

  2. What great ladders! I could do with one of those here to get from one level of the garden to another. How wonderfully natural it all is with the adobe house.Love it!

  4. Now I'm really jealous! I've always wanted to visit the Acoma Pueblo and have yet to make it up there.

  5. Very cool! Although I'm not sure I'd try that ladder. Looks a little rickety.

  6. They look as rickety as some of my old ladders. Mine are old but not homemade.

  7. I think I would have to go into the kiva and have a look around. Love the pictures.

  9. The ladders look quite rustic, but I'm sure they are still solid!

  12. Neat photos! The second ladder looks a little . . . rustic . . . and not altogether trustworthy ;-)

  13. I Love those Ladders! I want to get one of the replicas so we can display the rugs that we bought on the Navajo Nation.

    Great L post.

  16. I always enjoy your delightful narrative and wonderful photos. I've never seen a kiva although I've read some about them. I might not like to spend much time in there. :) But the ladders are all fascinating.

  17. I'm a LITTLE wary of some of these LADDERS, but it is a LOVELY composition nevertheless.
