We recently visited Pecos National Historical Park which is an impressive place. The museum displays are beautifully organized, and the park is a spiritual and peaceful environment. The sun was shining, but the temperature was not exactly summer warm. Despite the wind, we traversed the trails and let our imagination wander as we wondered about the lives of the Indians when the land was inhabited by members of the ancient pueblo.

une belle porte ouverte sous la neige, une invitation a entrer
ReplyDeleteI think that you've described exactly what has always been our experience there--peaceful and spiritual. It's a place that has an almost overwhelming presence (don't know how to say it any other way).
ReplyDeleteHow lovely this is. I love the adobe and those beautiful gates and so amazing with snow!
ReplyDeleteYesterday's baskets were a treat. Such a variety and so beautifully presented, Kate.
That gate looked very inviting. I love museums.
ReplyDeleteThe gate is a GREAT entryway to an interesting-looking facility.
ReplyDeleteOn behalf of the ABC Wednesday team, thank you! - Ramblin' with Roger
What a fascinating place that must be! And I love the gate. The decorative wood contrasts so well with the absolutely simple design of the building.
ReplyDeleteOn behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)
My mind flipped when I saw this picture. Those look identical to the old cafe doors we had that I put up. They led from our kitchen to our garage -- years ago. I would not have thought to use them as a gate but this person has. With the snow it is a really interesting shot. I should know the name of the flowers on the right as I had a bunch like that last fall.
ReplyDeleteI have not been there. I hope you will show us more.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful southwestern setting.
ReplyDeleteI love the color and the smoothness of those adobe walls! And the snow adds a magical touch.
ReplyDeletethose gates are perfect for welcoming visitors! everything looks so pristine, untouched, even the snow doesn't have any tracks
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, artistic shot!
ReplyDeleteLove the gate. It looks like it's just inviting you to stop in.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful image - I love the colours, and the sense of abandonment
ReplyDeletethe gate seems to be sending out a greeting
