This is part of the interior of 10,000 Waves, a spa extraordinare a few miles outside Santa Fe. After three hours there, after sitting in the sauna, relaxing in the communal hot tub, and having a massage, I felt like I could melt right back into the earth.
cela fait tres jardin japonais, j'aime beaucoup
ReplyDeleteJulie and her mother will want to know about this place.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go there...next time I will! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've always heard about this place. In my present state of personal abundance, the idea of a communal bath gives me the shivers, so I'm glad that you went and are sharing the experience!
ReplyDeleteClairz, Not to worry...there are private rooms, too. I was told by personnel that some people wear bathing suits and others do not...your choice. I was alone for a while, but then other women (young and middle-aged) joined me in the communal pool. Much to my surprise, I was the only one nude. I, however, felt perfectly comfortable since my aging body was in much better shape than the younger folks who exhibited tummy rolls and who were spilling out of their bathing suits. It's a personal choice, but I felt totally great!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a very pleasant experience, sleep-inducing even. I'm with Clairz though - I'd opt for privacy.
ReplyDeleteThe place looks lovely! Beautiful big Koi.
ReplyDeleteAh.......
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it. I have heard things about this place so I have not visited. I prefer Ojo Caliente, great mineral pools.
ReplyDeleteI visited 10,000 Waves many years ago in the winter, loved it. Also visited the mineral pools at Ojo Caliente back in my college days. Beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteI came back looking for the women's tub...but nooooooo...
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. Appears to be a wonderful and relaxing place. Don't melt into the earth yet, though.
Lovely photo - makes me think of Japan.
