Braids

My 9-year-old granddaughter was totally captivated by the braids worn by the Native America men.  She noticed and commented on all of them.  She missed the design and bead work on the garment in the top photo because she was concentrating on the braid.

  2. That jacket is so cool Kate, I think my daughter would love a statement piece like that. The braids in the men's hair look so natural and as if that's the traditional way it's always been worn.

  3. I would have noticed the bird, someone probably has that tattooed on their back.

  4. I don't know how one would wash a shirt with beads like that. For that matter, I don't know how one would wash hair with braids like that.

  5. I look at that beadwork & can't imagine the time it would have taken to make.... a true work of art!

  7. Interesting how your granddaughter saw the braid and not the bead work. You know, we ALL do that, focus on something and miss the rest.

    The bead work is stunning!
