Theme Day-March, 2012-Electricity

Electricity is a pretty challenging theme, and I didn't think that I would participate this month, but Eureka!  There are murals painted on many electrical utility boxes all over Santa Fe.  This one by the railroad crossing close to the Farmers Market is a perfect example.

Added later:  I swear that Randy and I did NOT collaborate on our photos today!

  2. Well what a good idea. I'd never have known it was an electricity box!

  3. It's such a good idea Kate, to disguise something utilitarian this way! I like the Santa Fe way, and also Ciel has the same idea but done in a very Versailles way!

  4. Excellent idea, Kate... Nicely done for TD. City of Long Beach has artist paint their elec-boxes too. Some rally beautiful and interesting ones.

  7. That's funny, Kate... I just saw this same one on Randy's blog. :) At first I thought they were the same photo, but on closer inspection realize they are the same object on different days. Ah, well, great minds think alike! I think you are traveling today- be safe!

  10. How cool! Now THAT'S graffitti you can enjoy. I wonder if that was officially commissioned by the city or power company or did somebody just take it upon themselves to liven things up?

  13. I got confused, thought I had gone back to the same blog but no, you and Randy had to have stood in the exact same spot! Well, it is a good one for the theme. I thought that electricity would be a boring theme but so far, it's been pretty interesting.

  15. Nice post! And how funny that you and Randy chose the same box. But electricity certainly isn't a very easy theme day. Like you, I considered not participating.

  21. Certainly a great idea for hiding those horrible grey or green boxes. Maybe all such things should be turned into works of art
