A Typical Southwest Church

Unfortunately I did not get any information about the artist and this painting.  The weather on the first day of Spanish Market was a little wet so I moved quickly from one booth to the next in the rain.  It appeals to me because it is representative of so many small village churches I've seen in New Mexico.

  2. It's interesting, almost primitive. Love the tones.

  3. Michelle Ferran was born and raised in Espanola New Mexico. She developed an intense appreciation for the beauty of the Southwest and in particular Northern New Mexico. Until 1995 Michelle's work had only been shown in her own home and in the homes of her friends. With the encouragement of her friends she began entering local art shows. Her popularity with the public due to the quality of her work and their unusual / vibrant colour schemes led to more popularity than she anticipated and also resulted in her capture of many of the prizes awarded at the regional art shows. Michelle's popularity with the public added to her confidence and success which resulted in the creation of "Ferran Fine Arts". Ferran Fine Arts is dedicated to producing original artwork, giclee prints, and note cards.

  4. What a wonderful painting. I have seen several photos of this little church, wish I could remember what town it is in. One of your readers will know, I'm sure.

  10. This is beautifully painted... I'll check into the artist per "JB" & Randy. The church, by the way is near Golden, NM. I did several photo etchings (etching photos onto copper plates) of this church.
