Patience-Camera Critters

On one of the hottest days of the year at the Albuquerque Zoo, this polar bear emerged from the cool water because his inner time clock told him that he was soon going to be fed some delectable fish.

  1. This is a unique angle for photographing a polar bear. It looks like he took a dip to stay cool. He needs some sunglasses. Then he would be way cool.

  2. Instincts are amazing where animals and food are concerned. This is a fabulous shot Kate, looks like you could reach out and touch him.

  3. It is good he/she had some cool water to come up from...I love zoos but have ambivalent feelings about caging wild animals...

It's a great shot, Kate! Very well exposed with all that background light!

  6. Well, Kate,
you know how I feel about bears.. especially polar bears. He is gorgeous. The last time I saw one was at the San Diego zoo years ago. I love to see them, but always feel badly for them all cooped up like that. I hope to see them in their natural habitat one day.
