Arriving

Arriving at our destination after 2 and 1/2 days of driving is exhausting.  Funny how one perks up, though, when signs lead the way!

Land of Enchantment
Beckons to me all year long
Browns and golds to love!

    1. Drive through and visit all of us! We'd love to have you visit St Paul to give you an idea of middle America.!

  2. When I lived in St. Louis during high school and visited there during college, we would drive to Colorado to go skiing. After driving across Missouri, then 8 hours across flat Kansas, we would be uplifted by the welcome to Colorado sign. But then the reality would set in that the first three hours of Colorado are just like Kansas.

    1. I hear you, Dave. Our southern route was tedious despite some flashes of beautiful terrain. Normally we drive the northern route which isn't much better but more familiar. Hitting New Mexico is always a treat, though!

  5. It has to be especially exhausting driving across country in the winter when we've had such extreme weather.

  7. When on a long trek across the country we are always happy to cross the state lines for some reason. But when going home from Illinois crossing into NM always feels like we are back in familiar country.

  9. Oh how I love those signs that say you're close, especially when it's a place you're so looking forward to seeing again! And who can resist a place that calls itself "land of enchantment?"
