What a hat!!
When I went to the Farmers' Market on Saturday I indulged in one of the huge gorgeous chocolate croissants that one of the vendors was selling. As I sat at a picnic table eating it, I notice the lovely young woman across from me wearing a spectacular cowboy hat. We chatted and I learned that Louann who is from California is considering moving to Santa Fe. Just another person enchanted by this magical city!
The other hat is the one I just recently bought for myself. It's very different from Louann's hat, but it is spectacular in its own way. Instead of felt, it is a soft, pliable leather, made in Santa Fe by Gina. If I were a resident here, I would buy another hat--a classic black felt cowboy hat with a silver band.
I told DH that I found men who wear cowboy hats very sexy; wonder if he'll buy one??

très belle la cow-girl avec son chapeau (qui ne passe pas inaperçu ;))
ReplyDeleteI can see why you noticed Louann's hat Kate, it's gorgeous, that would be great for here in Australia too, love the turquoise blue flower detail, so pretty. I bet you DH is out buying a hat right now !!
ReplyDeleteI have read there are, or were, 'rules' about who can wear a cowboy hat...
ReplyDeleteLOL, I bet he has a new hat before you know it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful girl and that is a beautiful hat! I like your new hat too!
ReplyDeleteI admire your gutsiness about asking people if you can take photos. Something I need to learn. Enjoy the new camera and thanks for the comments on the moonrise photo. The warmish weather is motivating me to try things I normally wouldn't want to do in January.
ReplyDeleteYour husband will definitely be getting a hat.
ReplyDeleteI am delighted with your post yesterday of Chimayo. I was showing Julie's grandmother pictures on the internet of the art work of a friend of ours whose painting of Camelback Mountain hangs above Julie's mother's fireplace. One of his paintings is the exact scene that you have photographed.
Thank you for your repeated and finally successful efforts to leave a comment on Julie's site.
I don't know about your husband, but my husband liked that comment since he never goes out without his cowboy hat.
ReplyDeleteThat young lady has found a very fancy and unusual hat. And she looks good in it too!
Can't resist a man in a cowboy hat. Come on DH start shopping!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those Santa Fe hats! They have a style all their own. You ought to give some thought to that classic black hat, too. . .I often regret not picking up those things that call to me. . .
ReplyDeleteWas she wearing a hat? Oh, I see it now! Yes, a "lovely young woman."
ReplyDeleteLast I heard, DH had bought 3 of them!
Hats, that is.
Ha! I think your husband should take the hint and buy a cowboy hat. :)
ReplyDeleteLouann looks great in hers.
I like the detailing on her hat. I like yours too! I bet your dh will have one in no time. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely hat. My favorite place to shop is Kowboyz (home of the $10.00 cowboy shirt) Maybe DH could find a hat there.
ReplyDeleteOh and as for a good XC trail. I was just on the Nordski trail near the ski basin a week ago and there were quite a few people skiing along the trail.
ReplyDeleteI will go against the trend here and say that I don't particularly like her hat. It would look better without the side panel. But, I DO like your new hat. I suspect DH will have his hat by the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI do like the hat she's got on... but leather & embroidery... must be expensive. I got the 20 dollar special at yippie yi yo!
ReplyDelete:)
We'll be looking for DH in his!
What a talent! Your close up portraits amaze me. Fancy hat on a fancy girl!
