Allan C. Houser
Bronze, 1980
Of the many fine sculptures of Allan Houser's, this is my favorite. If you want to see it for yourself, it's in front of the Wheelwright Museum entrance on Museum Hill.
Grown men can learn from very little children
for the hearts of the little children are pure.
Therefore, the Great Spirit may show to them
many things which older people miss.
Black Elk
What a beautiful sculpture. Love the movement - in the animals and in her dress and as always from you, an apt and thoughtful quotation.
ReplyDeletebelle sculpture et toujours sous la neige, j'aime beaucoup
ReplyDeleteThat is probably still seen among the Navajo nation. People still come home with their animals. I really like this and the previous statue art.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sculpture...looks like a young Navajo girl on her way home; right?
ReplyDeleteI like this one even better than yesterday's. Very moving!
ReplyDeleteI recognized it immediately! Beautiful with that touch of snow making it look very realistic.
ReplyDeleteI think this might be my favorite too.
ReplyDeleteA fine sculpture in a beautiful setting.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree, this is one of my favorites too. I also never get tired of seeing the railrunner go by. In fact it goes by my work everyday.
