A Road Trip

Yesterday DH and I took a road trip from Santa Fe to Ranchos de Taos.  It was a grand and glorious day as we wound our way along the High Road to Taos.  On our way home we took the shorter route on Hwy 68 which is very scenic in parts, especially along the Rio Grande.  In summer it is full of fun-seekers on rafts, but during the winter it's free of revelers.  Its beauty can be see in the two photos below.

  2. I have never been to Taos. Julie has taken the high road there with her mother, but and we have intended to go several times, but we end up enjoying ourselves in Santa Fe too much.

I believe that you are an English teacher by profession, and that background shows in your editorial comments re your comments on my site this morning. Like you, I usually check my favorite Daily Photo sites while waking up in the morning. Sometimes my brain is not fully engaged.

  7. This reminds me a lot of the Arkansas River in Colorado. I can imagine how much fun it would be in the summertime.

  9. Oh, that water looks so beautiful, so blue, and s-o-o-o cold! I have a very nice corn maiden fetish from Taos, and memories of a nice stop in Chimayo on the way. Such nice country!

  12. The river looks very fast flowing Kate, that little group of ducks in the right hand corner don't seem to be at all bothered by it. Beautiful colour of water.
