During the summer, bands play in the Plaza in Santa Fe, NM on Wednesday nights. No-one is shy about dancing, either solo or in pairs with a few groups thrown in for good measure. Antara, originally from Heidelberg, Germany has lived in Santa Fe for 11 years and has come to the Plaza to dance for 10 years. She obviously is a regular as she was greeted by numerous people in the large crowd. Despite a replaced hip, she dances with grace and charm and a great deal of verve. She told me that she is determined to remain independent . . .a terrific role model!

ReplyDeleteI'm very content to watch. Dance on!
ReplyDeleteI love the top portrait! The expression on the lady's face and how she positioned her hand it's just fantastic.
ReplyDeletebless her!
ReplyDeleteI love her red hair, shes still a looker.
ReplyDeleteOh, I think I'd enjoy this very much.
ReplyDeleteShe gives me inspiration to enjoy the moment!!
ReplyDeleteShe would love her portrait. Do you think you could arrange for her to model for a CDP gathering?
ReplyDeleteI seen the guy in the hat before too. They love to dance!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun event.
ReplyDeletegreat pictures and a great role model!
ReplyDeleteAntara is quite the role model for me and others of us who are quickly becoming part of the elder generation. I so admire women like this. My mother, who is almost 92, has pretty much given up and just sits every day looking out a window feeling sorry for herself. It breaks my heart to see her this way as her mind and her body slowly deteriorate. That's one reason why I keep working at age 68 and keep trying to learn about photography, my current hobby of choice. I'm hoping it will help to keep me young - especially since I was always very clumsy at dancing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Dancing in the moment and in expression! Perhaps she has found one of the keys of life!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully framed !
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you can see that Antara is one spirited lady, love the flaming red hair. I hope to be equally energetic at that age :) Well captured Kate.
ReplyDeleteExperience and joy!
ReplyDeleteI like active people. I have 62 and had a great time my husband and I, with the bike and our caravan.
A kiss.
