Meet Randy. . Again!

On January 3, 2012 I introduced Randy for the first time on this blog.  Today I again needed some help with an attachment for my camera so I went to the same camera shop on San Francisco Street in Santa Fe for guidance. To my delight Randy was there helping tourists, and he remembered both Jim and me from our first visit to the store. We had a brief chat because there were customers waiting for his help, but I was happy to learn that he is in his last semester at school. How terrific!

Here is the first post:
And here is the narrative on it:

Randy is a rarity in Santa Fe...a native New Mexican.  Born and reared in Albuquerque, I met him in The Camera Shop across from the historic La Fonda Hotel on San Francisco Street.  I just got a new Canon Rebel camera and was having some difficulties with some of the new, unfamiliar settings.  Within a few minutes Randy had solved the problem with skill, expertise  and graciousness.  He spends half of his time in Santa Fe and the other half in Albuquerque, working and attending school where he is majoring in Interior Design and Photography.  Because of his personal characteristics.  I predict success for this native New Mexican!!

PS.  This is NOT our Randy on CDP!

  2. Yea, that Randy is not as good looking. Ha. Nice portrait. Actually it's not as rare as it might seem. There are quite a few natives here. I found that out after working here these last almost 6 years.

    1. The "handsomeness" is a tie between the two Randys! Can't believe you've been in SF for 6 years already. How long have you had this blog? I vividly recall when you switched blogs for Phoenix to SF.

  3. A helpful camera store employee makes it worthwhile to buy from a camera store rather than on line. As the person we go to in Phoenix said, "When you buy this camera, you also get me."

  6. A handsome chap and he must be a very nice person if he's into photography! It's a good thing to have someone knowledgeable about cameras in the vicinity. I don't think we have a camera store in Ocala anymore. What a shame!

  11. Another nice portrait!

Re: deciding whether to get a basket. I've rarely had a basket that I haven't found a use for from holding spare bath and dog towels to knitting (the current use for my Ethiopian basket) and kitchen clutter. They're light and versatile.

  13. Randy is teliing all of his friends about the stalker who comes into the store to take his picture every time she is in town! And at first I thought it was "our" Randy.

  14. I do remember your last post of this guy! Here he is again almost a year later and looking younger than ever. If I ever pose for a pic I want it to be in front of your camera! All jokes aside, if I'm in Santa Fe and need camera help, Randy will be the guy I will look up! Might even go by just to tell him that I saw him on your website!
