The Knights of Columbus were part of the group that observed the day and processed from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi to the Plaza on Palm Sunday. See a full explanation of the procession, here. The man on the right is a retired Episcopal cleric who helped distribute the blessed palms to the crowd.

belle procession, mais pourquoi des palmiers ?
ReplyDeleteCeremonial robes are so colourful and always make wonderful photographic subjects. It looks as though it was a fine sunny day - that always helps :-)
ReplyDeleteI remember they used to do this back home in Illinois. I havent seen it in year....or maybe I havent paid attention.
ReplyDeleteLooks like all of that must have taken a lot of planning. Must have been a neat event to attend. Hope they didn't get hot with those hats on though!
ReplyDeleteWith this amount of ceremony for Palm Sunday, I am sure Easter Sunday will be memorable.
ReplyDeleteThis remimds me of scenes I've seen in the past from Monte Carlo Daily photo!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was warm that day. I love the beautiful robes and hats. It must have been nice to be there to see this.
ReplyDeleteI like the uniforms of the Knights, but the former cleric is much more at ease. Beautiful images of a truly felt procession.
ReplyDeleteWhat were those two caped superheros doing at church? Why not?!
ReplyDeleteNice post today.
