An Albuquerque "Find"-Camera Critters

Recently we drove to Albuquerque to buy a Lobos basketball t-shirt or sweat shirt for our grandson. Unfortunately the bookstore on the University of New Mexico campus was closed for inventory so it was a pointless trip.  But, I remembered that The Rattlesnake Museum, recommended by a friend, was in Old Town so we stopped there. Aren't these beauties?!

  1. My mother lived the rest of her life in Texas and she weilded a mean hammer and killed rattlesnakes in her bathroom. Imagine that.

  3. Wow! They are gorgeous. But, I've been told we have rattlesnakes out here, and I honestly don't want to meet one.

  4. Kate: What a neat set of photos, I wouldn't want to run into them in the wild.

  5. I wouldn't have stopped there myself so thanks for sharing. :)
I like the upper right pic of the light colored one - he seems to have his eye on you.
    Wonderful shots!

I'm not a snake fan and wouldn't have stopped there myself so I thank you for sharing.

  7. Beautiful! I love snakes! Though not as much as the lower regions in NM, we have some good rattlers up here in the mountains of Raton. No, I don't want to run into them, but I'd love to at least hear one from a distance, or see one sunning himself on a warm rock come summer. I spent 8 years in toxicology and know their venom's effects on a body- canine, feline, or human- but I still love and respect them. I can't stand the killing that goes on in the name of fear. They really are magnificent creatures.
